Irish Whiskey Museum Entrance

On Sunday the 8th of March it’s International Women’s Day! A world event celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women! Now that’s something we can get behind!

We have a team of amazing ladies who have made the Irish Whiskey Museum one of the most loved attractions in Ireland (number 8 on Trip Advisor for things to do in Dublin!). Today we thought we’d ask them what female they are inspired by….

Tanya Irish Whiskey MuseumTanya – Customer Care

I am inspired by the women who are not afraid to stand up for themselves. Tarana Burke is a civil rights activist from The Bronx, New York who founded the #MeToo movement. In the last year, it has been such an inspiration for women around the world and will bring serious change. International Women’s Day is a perfect time to continue the discussion!

Nicola Irish Whiskey MuseummNicola – General Manager

The person who inspires me is the American singer Sheryl Crow. She is not only an amazing artist, but she is a testimony to how hard women around the world work for what they want in life. She started out doing a range of odd jobs to pave her way to the huge successes she has achieved today.

Sylvia Irish Whiskey Museum

Sylvia – Operations Manager

I find it hard to name one woman out of all the incredible ladies who deserve the title. I feel inspired by all women who put down the ladder for others. They are all role models. International Women’s Day is such an important event to celebrate these females.

Janet Irish Whiskey Museum

Janet – Team Leader

My inspiration is Courtney Dauwalter. An American ultramarathon runner. She finished the 2018 edition of the Moab 240 race faster than any of the men in the pack. As a long-distance runner myself, I am inspired by the determination and discipline this woman shows to achieve success. Long-distance running is one sport where the female physique starts to have advantages, for example in fuel storage. I feel this represents the unique qualities, perhaps unrecognized, that females often bring to a workplace.
