Meet fabulous Hannah, you’ll usually find her behind the bar chatting to our customers about whiskey, cocktails and flights while also sharing the great historic whiskey stories. Hannah recently rebuilt our bar menu and has absolutely smashed it; she has made the menu accessible for people who are a little nervous about trying whiskey but also made it the perfect menu to make whiskey lovers feel at home.

Hannah’s favourite Irish whiskey story is the creation of the Irish coffee. Irish coffee’s are one of the most popular drinks in our bar so it is always a fun story for her to share while whipping one up. Here’s a little snippet of the story;

“There was a plane that had to have an emergency landing in Shannon airport, small plane with a lot of wealthy Americans. They were all shuffled into a tiny bar where the bar man Joe Sheridan took pity on his freezing weary customers and he decided to spice up their coffees a bit. According to legend, the name came about with the following exchange: “Hey Buddy,” said a surprised American passenger, “is this Brazilian coffee?” “No,” said Joe, “That’s an Irish Coffee”.”

Green Spot Chateau Montelena is currently Hannah’s go to whiskey. She describes it as tasting just like summer holidays.
