Meet Mark, you’ll usually find him in the tour rooms sharing his knowledge and passion for Irish whiskey. His role here at the Irish Whiskey Museum involves guiding visitors through the rise, the fall and the rebirth of Irish whiskey, followed by an obligatory tasting. Marks’s favourite part of his role is the freedom he has to put his own twist on the tour. He explains; “
At the Irish Whiskey Museum, we have the chance to express our own opinions about whiskey without endorsing any one brand. It’s a good feeling being able to recommend whiskey to our guests that will actually suit their pallet rather than pushing a particular brand”. Bushmills 16 year old is Mark’s all time favourite whiskey, that is on pay day of course! A top tip from Mark would be for all whiskey lovers visiting Ireland to break any habits you previously had and only try whiskeys you haven’t tried before in the pubs, no one has tried everything and it’s often a risk that pays off.
