Walsh’s Whiskey has just added a new core expression to the Writers’ Tears range. Double Oak will now stand alongside the Copper Pot Still and the Cask Strength Irish whiskey.

Writers’ Tears Double Oak, is a blend of two premium whiskey styles aged in two types of wood – American and French oak. The American barrels contribute a “bolder flavour” such as vanilla to the whiskey, while the French oak generates “silky tannins, a light sweetness and fruity flavours”.

The third expression in the Writers’ Tears core range is triple distilled, non-chill filtered and bottled at around 46% abv. The whiskey was made possible through a close collaboration with the Lagaret family in Cognac, France. The Walsh family has previously worked with the Lagaret’s on the limited release of Writers’ Tears Cognac Cask, which was proven to be a huge success.

This stunning whiskey is now available to enjoy in our bar and to purchase in our retail shop.
